Union Øye

At the head of the Norangsfjord, between mountains that have held their shape for ten thousand years, stands a wooden hotel built in 1891. Its guests once arrived by steamer. Today they arrive by road, through a landscape that has scarcely changed.

Union Øye is a fairytale in the most literal sense. Twenty-seven distinct rooms and a hundred and thirty years of stories. Carefully restored in 2022, with every detail considered. Firelight in every corner, and a valley outside the window that has drawn writers, royalty and climbers for more than a century.

When you stay, you are not a guest of a hotel so much as a visitor to a building that has been patiently waiting for you.
